HIV/AIDS Patient in W. Jakarta Increases

Since January to September 2014, HIV patient in West Jakarta has reached 309 people, while the AIDS patient reached 736 people. The amount is bigger compared to the same period last year by 128 patients for HIV and 139 people for AIDS. West Jakarta Sub Division AIDS Eradication (KPA) HIV/AIDS Head, Suparjan said so.

"The number of AIDS patient increases significantly compared to HIV patient," he said, Saturday (12/6).

The most transmission way of HIV is through hypodermic needle by 40-68 percent. While transmission through intercourse is 38-40 percent. HIV/AIDS patient, Suparjan added, can not be seen from the outer physics. But must be checked through HIV and AIDS test.

"The HIV patients have same condition as the normal people, and have no health complain. But, if not treated immediately, the body condition can drastically down and become AIDS," he added.

To press the HIV/AIDS patient, his side keep socializes to school, citizen environment and entertainment place.

"Avoid night club or massage center and free sex are better way preventing AIDS/HIV," he disclosed.
